2008 Chevrolet Cobalt For Sale In Ontario

The Cobalt delivers a smooth ride and attempts to provide upscale features in its cabin.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt is a carryover model that comes as a two-door coupe or four-door sedan. For 2008, Cobalt dropped its SS trims and added safety equipment. All Cobalts now have side curtain air bags, and the Sport trims now feature StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control.

Acceleration and Power

The used Chevy Cobalt for sale in Guelph has two engine options. The base is a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 148 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque. The more-powerful Cobalt Sport has a 2.4-liter High Output 4-cylinder engine that makes 171 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque.

According to the EPA, the 2.2-liter manual transmission rated at 24 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway. All engine models are paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and a four-speed automatic is optional.

The Cobalt sedan at Wilson’s Better Used Cars has a modern roofline sweep and an available, small rear spoiler, and it’s longer, wider and lower than most of its compact competition.

Standard exterior features include 15-inch steel wheels with bolt-on wheel covers, two-sided galvanized-steel body panels, body-color door handles, a body-color grille, Daytime Running Lamps, and black manual mirrors. For those who want to customize the exterior styling, there are plenty of options available.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt’s interior just is spacious enough and offers an adequate seating comfort, the quality of materials is high and cargo space is sufficient, leading to a low interior score for the class.

Safety

In frontal crash tests, the government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the base model sedan four out of five stars for driver safety and a perfect five stars for passenger safety. In side crash tests, the Cobalt gets three stars for the front seat and four for the rear.

The base model coupe has similar scores, but receives four out of five stars for both the front and rear seats in side crashes.

To help drivers avoid an accident, the Cobalt’s standard brake configuration puts large vented discs up front and composite drums in the rear. The 2LT Cobalt has front disc rear drum anti-lock brakes as standard equipment, and it’s a recommended option on the base model.

The Cobalt Sport has four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes. For 2008, GM’s StabiliTrack Electronic Stability Control System is now standard on the Cobalt Sport model.
